Sustainability

FSC and AFS certification
Timberlink Australia sources all of its timber from Pine Plantations in Tasmania and South Australia. These plantations are managed to ensure an ongoing supply of sustainable, renewable and legally sourced pine resources.

Building with plantation pine is good for the environment in so many ways:

  • It is renewable and fast growing.
  • It is a natural carbon storage bank drawing carbon out of our atmosphere.
  • It has a lower embodied energy than many other building materials such as concrete, steel or plastic. It can be recycled at the end of its service life.

Timberlink Australia holds an FSC Chain of Custody and Controlled Wood Certificate for production and distribution of woodchips (DNV-COC-000719, DNV-CW-000719, FSC-C117015).

All of our products can be made available with AFS certification upon request.

Product Responsibility
To make sure our products perform as required, we run stringent internal product compliance systems, particularly in regard to structural and preservative-treated timber compliance, to minimise risk to the community from non-conforming product.

In addition, Blenheim structural products and finger-jointed products are externally certified as verified to the appropriate Standards. All mills operate output testing regimes including physical testing of structural properties with continual monitoring of test data.

Timber products treated for durability are verified compliant by a combination of output testing and tight process control, with any treatment charges not meeting requirements being re-treated prior to dispatch.
Our products are tested to ensure they perform in Australia’s harsh environment.
