We have recently completed upgrades to our two manufacturing sites with purpose-built manufacturing plants to adjoin our existing facilities at both of our sites. Complementing our already diverse range of products, we are now manufacturing new timber products including cross laminated & glue laminated timber (NeXTimber) and wood-plastic composite decking & screening, expanding our business into new markets. These products will take Timberlink from being primarily a structural timber manufacturer to a structural engineered timber products and solutions business.

About the role:

We currently have a vacancy for a Logistics Analyst & Administrator, to be based out of our head office in Scoresby. This position is a 12-month fixed term role, with the possibility to extend beyond the 12 months.

A multitasking professional, this role is responsible for aggregating and analysing data, identifying areas of inefficiency and recommending process improvements. You will be active in day-to-day operational execution with both internal and external stakeholders including Timberlink’s third party-logistics (3PL) providers, distribution network and external vendors.

This role would suit someone who enjoys all aspects of logistics analytical and administration work, with previous experience in data administration and analysis in a blue collar or manufacturing environment highly regarded.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage route activities such as proof of delivery documentation, invoicing, electronic bills and shipment tracking.
  • Correct freight settlement documents to ensure the proper accruing of freight daily.
  • Review and reconcile freight invoices to ensure payment accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain rate tables and generate cost estimates, forecasts, and cost models.
  • Execute day to day operational processes and perform data management applying a combination of data mining, data modelling, and data analysis; cost/benefit analysis and/or problem analysis.
  • Audit transportation sundry charges by carrier and customer.
  • Perform cost comparisons of distribution centre shipments versus plant direct opportunities.
  • Support creation of weekly and monthly KPI, forecasts, environmental and financial reporting.
  • Actively participate in transportation alignment activities, including supply chain tenders, tracking performance to awards and cost.
  • Estimate distribution costs for new business opportunities, indirect/direct freight, DC costs

Required experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a logistic analyst or administrative role
  • Degree qualification in Business, majoring in Supply Chain, Logistics or similar preferred but not essential
  • Experience working in environments such as Trade Merchants, transport, logistics, industrial are highly regarded
  • Power BI knowledge and experience
  • Microsoft office suite especially excel and word an advantage
