Our world class manufacturing sites are located close to some of the best renewable plantation pine resources in the world - Bell Bay in Tasmania & Tarpeena in South Australia. Our fit-for-purpose indoor and outdoor plantation pine products are suitable for building new homes, renovation projects and other industrial manufacturing applications including packaging, pallets, and furniture components.

At Timberlink we embrace innovation, and this drives our constant growth. We are currently building two purpose-built manufacturing plants to adjoin our existing facilities at both of our sites. Complementing our already diverse range of products, we will be manufacturing new timber products including cross laminated & glue laminated timber (NeXTimber) and wood-plastic composite decking & screening, expanding our business into new markets in 2023. These products will take Timberlink from being primarily a structural timber manufacturer to a structural engineered timber products and solutions business.

About the role:

It is with great excitement that we commence recruitment for our brand-new Wood Plastic Composites Plant. We are now looking for a Machine Operator to join our business.

Working 7am - 7pm 4 days per, rotating one week day shift then one week night shift 7pm - 7am. If you have a plastics or composites background and are looking to make your mark with a greenfield role, then this is the perfect opportunity for you.

This permanent, full time position reports directly to the Team Leader and will be based at our Bell Bay manufacturing site in Tasmania (approx. 40 minutes from Launceston). With our business continually investing and growing, this is a perfect opportunity to combine your strong technical mindset with a leader in the timber manufacturing industry.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensures appropriate daily schedule controls are in place to enable the teams to clearly understand ongoing operational performance.
  • Coordinates external resources where required.
  • Communicates issues and actions providing detailed shift handovers.
  • Production capability is met in line with the business strategy.
  • Liaises with both upstream and downstream sections to ensure that a quality product is produced.
  • Facilitate and support scheduled maintenance work and manage breakdowns in line with operational requirements.

Qualifications and Qualities you will bring to Timberlink:

  • Mechanical and plastics background strongly regarded.
  • Forklift Licence essential & Experience
  • Ability to work in small teams
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills
